Give Birth Empowered and Supported.
Pregnancy, labour and post-partum are very impressionable and delicate times when a woman and her partner deserve the support of someone they have chosen and whom they know and trust to share their deep vision for the birth of their baby. This is the role of the Doula.
Studies have shown that the presence of an experienced female companion, a Doula, during labour, significantly decreases the length of labour, the woman’s perception of pain, and the number of complications, including the reduction of caesarean section and forceps delivery by up to 60%.

About Jayne:
As well as being a Mother of 4,and Grandmother of 2, I have been attending births as a Doula since 1988. I trained with “Birth & Bonding International” as a Birth Guide - Doula in 1999.
Alongside my work as a Doula I work as an Integretive Counsellor in private practice and I am a Counsellor for several Women’s Organisations in Brighton.
I am a qualified and experienced Source Process and Breathwork Practitioner and I have trained in, and have a good working knowledge of, homoeopathy during pregnancy, labour and the post- partum period.

I offer a basic package to my clients which includes a free first visit followed by 3 meetings of approximately 2 hours which gives us time to get to know each other and build mutual trust and understanding. During this time the birth plan is created and any specific sources of anxiety are addressed.
Whether you are planning to have your baby at home or in hospital I will be with you as soon as you feel is appropriate and will stay with you until you feel comfortable for me to leave after the birth.
I offer 2 post-partum visits as part of this package, which can include “debriefing” after the birth, support with feeding, and advice on caring for your newborn, also light housework, cooking or shopping.
Extra post-partum care is also available at an hourly rate.
