Pregnancy dating is where the clash of cultures has great impact. Modern, scientific techniques do not give 100% accuracy, yet the consequences of the miscalculations are considerable. Inaccurate dating may be implicated in 50% of inductions, some of these resulting in unnecessary caesarean sections.
